Mission Statement

The mission of Lexington Athletics is to provide a competitive and successful athletic environment while promoting and embodying the ideas of teamwork, sportsmanship, hard-work, and self-discipline in an academic setting. Lexington Public Schools has established and supports a broad based athletic program. Equal emphasis is given to all sports, and the quality of competition is similar for all. Lexington Public Schools supports student-athletes in the effort to attain high levels of competitive performance and excellence in the class room and on the athletic fields by providing student-athletes with competent coaching, excellent facilities, and proper/ safe equipment.

It is school policy that all student athletes be drug tested prior to competing in sports at Lexington.  The drug test must be rendered only by the company contracted by the school in order to maintain the integrity and safety of our program. In addition to the initial screening, students will be randomly tested throughout the school year.

Honors and Awards for 2014-2015

Congratulations to our Powerlifting Teams!
We have STATE winners!
High School -
Nick Bridgeford placed first in the 275 lb weight class with a total of 1550 lbs. Nick also set a new state record by squatting 700 lbs surpassing his old record of 675. Nick not only became a state champion with a gold medal and set a new state record in squat but he also received the overall outstanding squat award.   Luis Solis placed second in the 132 lb weight class with a total of 980 lbs. Luis and the first place lifter actually tied in total weight but then the decision goes to body weight and the other lifter weighed one ounce less than Solis so he took home the championship and Solis took home the silver medal.  The other four lifters were Tyler Brown in the heavy weight class totaling 1275 lbs. Austin Bridgeford in the 242 lb weight class totaling 1240 lbs. John Burton in the 168 lb weight class totaling 1010 lbs. and Evan Plavchak in the 145 lb weight class totaling 815 lbs.

Junior High - JH
team placed first at State competition.  Nathan Clegg and Kaleb Speck both placed 1st and are state champions.  Ethan Scott, Toby Prevost, Andre Ibara, and Tyler Lennon placed 2nd, Mason Hamm and Destrie Shea Placed 3rd, Kyston Wheat and Avery Armstead placed 4th, Nick Faught placed 5th, and 7th Grade won the Team State Championship

Congratulations to our Boys Cross Country team for going to State competition this year.
Congratulations to Cassidy Bennett, who signed with USAO to play softball next year!
Congratulations to our Powerlifting Teams! 1-26-15
Junior High brought home 15 medals from Prague, and won the meet out of 25 schools
Fischer Bowling placed 1st, Andre Ibarra placed 1st, Toby Prevost placed 1st, Nick Faught placed 1st , Nathan Clegg placed 1st, Mason Hamm placed 3rd, Caden Jones placed 3rd, Destrie Shea placed 3rd, Nick Seaton placed 3rd, Austin McWaters placed 3rd, Ethan Scott placed 4th, Kaleb Speck placed 4th, Jeremy Spratt placed 4th, Nick Horton placed 5th, and Seth Ille placed 5th
High School brought home 4 medals and took 3rd out of 50 schools.
